Is anyone else obsessed with the app Instagram? I make it my personal duty to upload everything on there. I take pictures of things that make me happy... clothes, food, wine, trips to Starbucks and my wonderful friends and family.

Here are some Instagram photos that share my Lilly love:

I paired my Sadie dress with a glam royal blue bib necklace from Forever 21! Who would know? Hair up makes the look a little less busy.

Something else that's on trend right now is the Arm Party. Basically it's stacking up different bracelets with your watch - the more the merrier! I've mixed in my favorite Lilly Pulitzer Ric Rac bangles with some Kate Spade, a couple bracelets I made and my Michael Kors watch. There ain't no party like an Arm Party!!!

I paired the Cassie slub dress with the gold bow belt in the store one day...perfection! I added a Loren Hope necklace (honestly, any one of her necklaces will do!) and it's just a chic everyday look. Wear flats during the day and heels for night!

The lovely, smart and inspiration ladies at Sweet Lemon Magazine have done it again. Headed by Carly Heitlinger, Paris Rouzati and Melissa Noucas, Issue 2 of the online magazine has hit computers near you!

I was fortunate enough to write an article for this issue. It was heartfelt, researched and hit home for a lot of women, I'd like to think. I was also fortunate enough to work with Zac Thompson, a great artist and photographer.

As for the clothes my beautiful models wore...they're ALL from The Colorful Gator, of course! As an added bonus, these styles are on SALE on the website.

Lilly Pulitzer Sorority Prints!

Finally the prints for the latest sorority line have been revealed! I am so excited...especially since my sorority has been included!

Although the University of Florida doesn't have an Alpha Phi chapter, they do have Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, Delta Gamma and Kappa Alpha Theta. I can't wait to see these prints around campus and in my closet!

With the first game of the 2011 Gator Football season upon us, I've put together some Lilly looks that are chic and fan friendly!

Take a look and tell me what YOUR favorite gameday Lilly outfit is!

Here, the coral Lana slub cotton top is paired with the Avery skirt in "Fallin in Love" and a coral necklace by Loren Hope. Slub cotton is not only trendy right now, but light and breathable...perfect for the being out in the sun!

Here, I paired the navy Wynne top with the Roslyn skirt in "Dark N Story" along with another necklace by Loren Hope. The Wynne top is so versatile, as shown in making this a one shoulder top. This look is also heat friendly and perfect with sandals or a comfy pair of wedges.

THEY'RE BACK!!!

That's right, the Lilly agendas are back by popular demand. And who isn't thrilled about it? In four new prints, they have me wanting one...even though I haven't run out pages in my current Lilly agenda! From the top left going clockwise their names are: Docksider, Nice to See You, Luscious, and Navy Bloomers.

I have to say, the Docksider print is my favorite, but it took me a while to finally settle on a #1 pick!

We all can see how irresistibly cute these agendas are, but I don't want their actual function to get lost. Here's the sitch, fellow blogging friends: It's been the MOST helpful agenda/planner I have ever owned. I kid you not. I love the layout, and there's plenty of room inside for all my school, work, internship and social activities!

There are two pockets in the front that carry loose papers and a few business cards. I turn a few pages there's the year(s) at a glance, a section for me to fill in important dates, holidays, an address book, months at a glance and a notes section. Then it jumps into the months, laid out week-by-week.

I'm strictly of the belief that you should endorse what you personally love, so I'm straight shooting with you all, and I always do!

Vacation, All I Ever Wanted

Today, I'm going on vacation...well, a virtual vacation. Continuing my infatuation with the color navy, I've created a round up of my favorite navy Lilly dresses for summer, and some hot spots to sport them!

Here's the scene: a sultry summer bar on the beach, plus you in the Ramona dress in the navy, "Hot Fun" print. Here's the plot: fantastically fabulous fun. That's right, not matter what happens that night, in the dress you're bound to have a great time. The dress itself is flattering and flirty all at once. What more could you ask for??? I rest my case. End scene.

Lately, so many of my friends have been traveling the globe. I am not only insanely jealous, but very inspired! Through the blog, I've come to realize how global Lilly truly is! We get viewers on our blog from so many different countries! Its astounding and very exciting. I can't help but imagine this fun chic Roslyn skirt in the "Cherry Bomb" print, the Heather tank and a great pair of wedges on Italian cobblestone streets. Casually traipse around town, dine alfresco at a local bistro and taste a lick of heaven at a nearby gelato shop. What are you waiting for? Andiamo!

Here's a look that's nautical, but nice! Slip on the Leslee dress and drive to your nearest beach. I consider this a great daytime, to casually throw up, yet still look effortlessly put together in. The anchors and rope are sweet touches and I just love that neckline! How unique and fun! I'm obsessed with how it looks with the Docksider tote.
This looks incredible. The dress. The sunset. The boat. The water. I want to be on a cruise ship in the Flor dress in the "Hot Fun" print. Seriously...someone help me make this happen! This is another example of a great transition dress. Add a skinny brown belt, Flat neutral sandals, a long necklace and a funky bag for a great day look. Dress it up by simply slipping on heels and accessorizing with a bold metallic necklace or cuff, and a bright colorful clutch. What a perfect dress to set sail in....

With the Fourth of July juuuuuust around the corner, I couldn't help myself here. Besides, truly this is the summer of navy...but don't get me wrong, I'm not blue about it! Navy is magnificent on. It's a fabulous color, and can mostly used a neutral with endless possibilities in layering and accessorizing.

Here we have the Shayna. This eyelet dress is stunning in navy. It does what black can do...but better. It doesn't wash you out, and looks great anywhere at anytime.

Lilly wants YOU in navy.

I'd call it investing, rather than enlisting. Either way, this is a dress that's sure to win a star spangled salute, and turn a few heads!

In honor of White Out Week, I chose the cocktail creation The White Lady! Not you have a new recipe to try once 5 o'clock rolls around, while wearing your white Lilly wear...and without fear of spills! ha!

Here it is:

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz of Gin
3/4 oz of Cointreau
3/4 oz of Lemon Juice
Ice cubes

And here's what to do with it all:

Pour it all into a shaker (perfect time to use a Lilly shaker, if you have one!) and shake well. Then strain your cocktail into a chilled glass! Then simply enjoy responsibly! Simply scrumptious!

It's true, I love LP. And I love a fabulous little white dress...but I have a feeling I'm not alone here! The challenge I planned for this dress was to make it more than just a white strapless dress. I wanted to make it look like something completely different.

I truly love the "Pirate's Bootyniere" print in Shorely Blue cardigan. This cardigan is perfect for this dress. Not only is it a great fit, but the print isn't too busy for the skinny gold belt we paired over it. The ruffles add a feminine touch and the top of the white dress just peeks through. This is another great summer look for the office, too!

Our beautiful models look GORGEOUS in these two fun looks that are definitely a different twist on how to wear classic Lilly dresses.

This is a great photo of the complete look. The great thing about wearing a white dress under a buttoned up and belted cardigan is that there's no awkward shirt coming up our of a skirt. No uncomfortable movement and nothing gets un-tucked and turned around! It's effortless!

We paired these yellow heels with the look. It looks great and complements the femme feel of the outfit. Simple jewelry, like pearl earrings and a simple ring will to off fabulous look!!

So the dress's name is Wilma however there is nothing stone age about it! (Get it? Wilma..The Flintstones?!) Anyways, this happenin' halter dress has great eyelet detail and is so flattering! Gone away are the myths that you can't look slimming and sleek in white! That's right ladies...white is the new black! When it comes to a halter, sometime I like the leave the neck bare, and stack bangles and bracelets up or wear a big statement piece cocktail ring. Leaving the neck bare enhances the dress and doesn't distract from how pretty you look in it!

Another great cut for any body type is the Betsey! Who doesn't like a cute strapless dress? The possibilities with this are truly endless. Throw a sweater on with it, or a light denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up.

And my ideas don't stop there...BELT IT! I love a belt over a sweater, to tie in a look. Play with color, since the dress is white. One of my favorite looks is a white dress I have, with a black and white zebra sweater over it and a braided pink belt. The belt has brown leather at the ends and a gold buckle. Mixing a little black and brown like that surprisingly works! I always get complements in that look.

The versatile Bowen dress...it's the totally fuss-free. And what do I mean by that? The straps are removable! You can wear it as a strapless dress is you like, but if you always find yourself messing around with your tops and pulling up your strapless dress, just keep these straps on!! Make it more sophisticated with fun gemstone sandals or colorful heels. This dress would look great with a chunky cool necklace too — touches like that will make the dress look less Sesame Street and more Sex and the City!

Happy Hour: Green Apple and Pear Daiquiri

Some of my best friends recently got back from a month long adventure abroad in Italy. Besides for being insanely jealous, I've enjoyed looking through their pictures and hearing about their trip! One of my friends said she tried a Green Apple and Pear Daiquiri and it was heavenly, so taking her word for it, here it is, friends!! You can bet I'll be mixing this later today!

Here it is:

Ingredients:

2 cups of ice
3 canned pear halves (8.5 ounces) drained and semi-frozen
3 ounces of white rum
2 ounces of Apple Schnapps
Lime juice (just one lime needed!)
1 teaspoon of superfine sugar

And here's what to do with it all:

Simply put everything in a blender until it's all blended and smooth. Then it's ready to drink!

As always, relax but be responsible!!

Shaken, Not Stirred: Summer Skirts

Most Lilly-lovers will attest to a love for preppy fashion. I know I have an affinity for it! Preppy style has it's classic color combinations and it's timeless rules. But let's re-cap Lilly Pulitzer's story. I'm gonna have to say breaking the rules, has risk but yields great reward.

This summer, I want to challenge you to break some rules with some of the FAB skirts from the summer line!

The Roslyn is such a great fit. It's usually seen like a polo, or solid v-neck tee but I love the idea of juxtaposing the tradition skirt with a modern top. Go for the Wynne top! Pick a color that isn't dominating, so it draws something new from the print

This Roslyn skirt is PERFECT for the Fourth of July...a must-have!!

The Avery is just made to match your favorite espadrilles. Seriously, I love this skirt. It looks fabulous on everyone! Since it has a paper bag waist-cinching, it's best to keep your more fitted. If it's not completely sweltering outside, try a cute quarter-sleeved tshirt. Anything in the cotton slub material is perfect!

The Jarvey skort rightfully popular. It's short and flirty and when it's hot, it's perfect with the Heather tank. With this skirt, there's some rules you CAN NOT break.

Because of the short hemline, keep your sandals flat. Espadrilles, wedges and pumps are a no-no! Plunging necklines are also taboo.
Plunging necklaces and colorful bangles, however, are a MUST. With the Jarvey, go the extra mile in accessories.

Also, don't be afraid to pair a striped or gingham shirt with a printed skirt or skort. As long as the colors coordinate and you don't clutter the look with too much jewelry, this look is daring, but darling! Example: Try the Jonni gingham short sleeve shirt (shown at the very top with white pants) with the "Classic White Had Me a Blast" Jarvey. Keep shoes neutral, jewelry minimal and throw a solid colored sweater over your shoulders in case you get chilly!

A fabulous cocktail, the daiquiri is a summertime staple. It's refreshing and cool during the hot hot heat!!!

Here it is:

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons (1 ounce) fresh lime juice
2 heaping teaspoons superfine sugar
1/4 cup (2 ounces) white rum
1 cup ice cubes
Lime to use as a garnish

And here's what to do with it all:

In cocktail shaker, stir together lime juice and sugar until sugar dissolves. Add rum and ice cubes and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into chilled Daiquiri or coupe glass and drop in lime wheel for garnish.

Drink responsibly and enjoy!

I just couldn't help myself with this graphic. The Clare dress is such a light and cheery dress, I felt like a sweet graphic was a must!

A wonderfully blog follower and facebook fan asked if I had any styling advice for the Clare dress, which is sometimes a little tricky to style because of the ruffles at the neckline.

So here are my thoughts, as you can see! When it comes to the Clare dress, keep the neckline as simple as possible. Either two small necklaces or one small/medium sized one. Keep the colors neutral and light. I think sandals go best with the Clare. Whether they're flat or wedges, you definitely want to show off a pretty pedicure! Obviously McKims and those FAB espadrilles are the shoe of choice (check out what we have on sale). Jack Rogers are great, too. Any bag will work, and don't be afraid to match the dress! But a clutch, handbag or side satchel will complement this easy-going dress!
These monogram necklaces are perfect for the Clare. They sit at the right height (not too low, not too high) and they show off your preppy style! I love this Loren Hope Cleopatra necklace too. It's a great edgier contrast to the girly ruffles on the Clare dress. These are a must-have!

If you really want to accessories and have fun...it's all in the wrist! Let me explain:

Don't be afraid to stack some bangles on the same side as your watch. TREND ALERT! This is actually very chic right now! It's a fabulous look and it's all the rage. Also, mixing and matching different types of bangles is fun and funky and highly encouraged. Again, this is a fashion DO.

Just yesterday at work, I took this quick snapshot to show you all! I paired my Michael Kors watch with a gold Lilly Ric Rac bangles and a funky colorful bangle that matched my outfit, similar to the bangles of Sequin in Palm Beach!

Is it completely cliche to say that I am a basket case over the basket case bangles? Hmm.... :)

Bo-Bangles bracelets are great, and thin enough the stack a few up! Love them! And they come in so many great colors!

Okay these pants are actually a bit older, they're from Fall. However, being on location this summer in NYC, I have noticed a LOT of colored skinny pants, so I just had to write this post! The Aida Corduroy pants are fabulous. And honestly, the Aida cut looks super GREAT in jeans, too. But let's talk more about the coral pants trend...

Our model looks amazing in these pants, and I love them with the Sutton top. It's the perfect top for these pants. It coordinates so wonderfully.

Style icon, Sarah Jessica Parker struts her stuff in coral cords.

Here's my biggest piece of advice, if you're going to wear these pants - or any other colorful pants - don't be afraid of color! That's right...more color!!! There's nothing wrong with playing it safe with a black or white plain top. But don't limit yourself, and don't second guess your fashion conscience when it's speaking to you! Wear what makes you happy!

Happy Hour: The Mint Julep

In honor of our deep southern roots and love for good 'ole fashion fun, today's cocktail is the classic mint julep. It's been a little over due for an appearance on the blog, don't you think? Well, better late than never!

Here it is:

Ingredients:

4 cups of Bourbon
2 bunches of fresh spearmint
1 cup of distilled water
1 cup of granulated sugar
Powdered sugar

And here's what to do with it all, via the Food Network:

To prepare mint extract, remove about 40 small mint leaves. Wash and place in a small bowl. Cover with 3 ounces of bourbon. Allow the leaves to soak for 15 minutes. Then gather the leaves in paper toweling. Thoroughly wring the mint over the bowl of whiskey. Dip the bundle again and repeat the process several times.

To prepare simple syrup, mix 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of distilled water in a small saucepan. Heat to dissolve sugar. Stir constantly so the sugar does not burn. Set aside to cool.

To prepare mint julep mixture, pour 3 1/2 cups of bourbon into a large glass bowl or glass pitcher. Add 1 cup of the simple syrup to the bourbon.

Now begin adding the mint extract 1 tablespoon at a time to the julep mixture. Each batch of mint extract is different, so you must taste and smell after each tablespoon is added. You are looking for a soft mint aroma and taste-generally about 3 tablespoons. When you think it's right, pour the whole mixture back into the empty liter bottle and refrigerate it for at least 24 hours to "marry" the flavors.

To serve the julep, fill each glass (preferably a silver mint julep cup) 1/2 full with shaved ice. Insert a spring of mint and then pack in more ice to about 1-inch over the top of the cup. Then, insert a straw that has been cut to 1-inch above the top of the cup so the nose is forced close to the mint when sipping the julep.

When frost forms on the cup, pour the refrigerated julep mixture over the ice and add a sprinkle of powdered sugar to the top of the ice. Serve immediately.

So perhaps as you can tell, today I felt quite inspired by the Petula dress. It's the ideal summer dress. Cute (you'll no doubt get numerous complements while wearing it) and comfortable (which is key in the summer heat)! I give this dress a double thumbs up for everyday wear.

While I'm still singing Petula praises, I want to point something else out...this dress is SUPER flattering. Yes! It has a lovely gradual A-line flare to it, which makes this dress even more ideal! Sometimes it tough to pull off certain dresses if you're curvy (I know!) but this dress couldn't make curves look better. The way the top is banded gives great support and shape. And if you don't have curves, don't fear! This dress is like the pair of jeans from "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" ....for real, there's something about this dress that has looked amazing on everyone who hass come in to try/buy it!!
If you haven't heard...we carry Loren Hope Designs. Her jewelry is phenomenal. Colorful, trendy, but not cluttered...can you tell how much we love her around here? Anyways, I want to talk about earrings for a second. As much as I firmly believe in the classic power and beauty of pearls earrings, I think it's time we Lilly lovers mix it up. That's right, I dare you to trade in your pearl studs for hoops. But not just any hoops! Pick a fabulous and classy pair, such as the Loren Hope ones shown above (which ironically do come in pearl!)
If you're not ready to hoop it up, try a gorgeous statement necklace! While wearing a true work of hand-crafted art like this, I suggest keeping other accessories very minimal, as to not seem cluttered or take away from necklace. A bold necklace is sure to attract attention to your pretty face when you wear it! (PS we only have ONE of these necklaces left!)
I wasn't planning on including another Lilly Pulitzer product, since that inspiration connection is just a bit obvious... However, I couldn't resist when it comes to this clutch!! Similar to the dress, it's bright in color, can transition for different occasions AND is perfect for summer. You might be wondering what I mean by "transition for different occasions? Well, you can actually tuck the straps into the purse...making it a true clutch.

For a casual look: keep the straps out of the purse, throw a sweater/denim jacket over the dress, opt for the hoops, and wear flat sandals.

For a dressier look: tuck in the purse straps, wear the dress with bare shoulders, put on your statement necklace and slip on some wedges! *Just add cocktail in hand

Perhaps you're planning on hosting a party? Or maybe you just want it to feel like a party - even when you simply set your drink down! Well these coasters from Furbish Studio Online are so similar to the Tissue Kissue print. They're slightly more geometric and modern, but still have a great color palette. If your table could talk I think it would say much more than "thank you" for these coasters!
That's right, I'm moving from coasters to cups. These are from the CALYPSO St. Barth for Target collection. I have such a "color crush" on these tumblers! They're so pretty - it's like holding a sunset in your hand! I can almost taste the ice cold sweet tea I'm imagining in that tall tumbler...

Why not add a little "fanfare" to these hot days? It's gotten to the point that I can not - and will not - sit poolside without a little breeze to keep me from melting. For those days that don't provide a natural breeze, I'm going to make my own with these cute paper fans! You can find these at many places online.

Fiesta Fever: Celebrate in Style

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!!! It's a favorite summertime celebration!! Even if you're not quite sure what exactly we're celebrating, if you're like me, you're just happy margaritas and those colorful tiny umbrellas on drinks can be found everywhere! Ole!!

Obviously, it's also a fun opportunity to dress festively, and enjoy some great company. I've picked out some of my top choices for celebrating the "Cinco" in style! Take a look...

I'm giving a double thumbs up to ANYTHING in the "Stamped" print. This print is just too fun fun, and it comes on my favorite Lilly items: the Callahan shorts, the Sandra dress, the Clare dress, the Cissy skirt. There is seriously so much to choose from...and you can't go wrong. I love the shorts or the skirt paired with a tucked in "Wynne" top OR the new "Wynden" halter. Both have a flirty ruffle, which is perfect for any fiesta. The "Wiley" tube top is also very cute, but I really only recommend it with the shorts!

If you're nervous about wearing the Sandra in such a loud print...have no fear. It's fabulous plain, but we like it belted, too! Here is my advice: go for a skinny gold or silver belt if you're going to wear it with heels (like the model). If you're wearing flat sandals, opt for something like the "Sullivan" belt. It's a bit thicker and the material makes it a little more casual.

What do you think about this equation? Finally...math I don't need a calculator for! These wedges truly are marvelous. Ohh the lustful looks they've gotten from shoppers...and all of us when we're working! They're great with any dress, jeans, white jeans, white linen pants....should I go on? With a margarita in your hand and these shoes on your feet, you have it made!

Happy Hour: La Paloma

In honor of today being Cinco de Mayo, I figured I'd do a traditional and tasty Mexican drink. Without further ado... La Paloma!!

Here it is:

Ingredients:

2 ounces tequila

1/2 ounce lime juice

pinch of salt

grapefruit soda

And here's what to do with it all:

Combine the tequila (reposado, preferably), lime juice, and salt in your glass. Add ice, top off with grapefruit soda, and stir. The best soda to use is the Mexican Jarritos brand, although any soda or lemon-lime soda with a splash of grapefruit juice will work out as well. You can salt the rim of your glass, margarita style, or even throw a pinch of salt in the drink! Either way, you're sure to enjoy this Cinco de Mayo cocktail!

Recent life events have caused my head to fill with thoughts concerning a more professional dress code. Unfortunately, you can't wear head-to-toe Lilly at some jobs. Interviewing at a job is also key to a first impression...but you might not be able to get away with the Blossom dress in the print "First Impression!" These are just the facts of life and the business world. However, I firmly believe that there are several solid options for Lilly in the work place...this summer I will definitely be exploring that some more AND blogging about it! Todays "Shaken, Not Stirred" focuses on dressing Lilly up for work...because let's face it, we need to earn money so we can buy more Lilly!!!!!!

The navy Adleson jaquard dress with gold lace is a classic look. It's usually worn rather plainly, but we decided to pair a tan blazer with the dress, classic pearl earrings and a bright leather clutch. We kept this look refined, and conservative. Definitely appropriate for the workplace! For our look, the model is wearing strappy metallic heels, but nude pumps would also look great if you have to wear close-toed shoes.

This outfit can transition easily from workplace to after-hours cocktails with coworkers, if you loose the blazer! Who says you have to wear the same old boring pantsuit everyday to work? Not Lilly and not us! Try "shifting" your work wardrobe around with the Adelson!

Happy Hour: Passion Fruit Mimosa

A classic brunch staple, the mimosa, has graced many a preppy parties and even famous functions. In my most recent cocktail research, I stumbled upon this fruity gem: the passion fruit mimosa! It never occurred to me, probably because I don't really spend to much time thinking up cocktail recipes - I'll leave that to the pros (this recipe is from Martha Stewart)! In any case, here's a little treat for you - you deserve it and it's Friday after all!

Here it is:

Ingredients:

6 ripe passion fruit cut in half
1 chilled bottle of champagne

And here's what to do with it all:

Squeeze juice of 1 passion fruit into each champagne glass. Add some of the seeds to each glass. Fill with champagne, then serve, enjoy and drink responsibly!

Looks delicious!!

Another double feature? We're not talking about a supercharged movie date...we're talking about this post! I'm gonna break down 2 looks in 1 post today...TGIF! This classy couple looks fabulous and ready for a fun filled day...but let's breakdown the outfits!

In proper etiquette, we'll do ladies first! I adore the Anders dress in "Booty Caw". The dress is very chic and stylish, but the Obi belt helps break up the print a bit. We liked the Shauna in the same print belted as well. Belts are a great because they serve a double purpose: they make a dress more flattering and they are ultimately very trendy.

Throw on a couple great bangles (we stuck with two in the same color, since the dress has enough going on). When it comes to treating the feet, I like the gold McKims for a daytime look (similar to the Jack Rogers our model is wearing). The Resort wedges are a classy uptown look for the night. Stick with chic complements for this dress. It's made out of a beautiful silk and you don't want to tarnish the appeal. As much as I love espadrilles (especially the new Lilly ones!) I don't think they work best with this dress.

On to the gentleman, we decided to play with layers. We put the Men's Wellington Polo in the "Love Me or Leaf Me" print underneath the Jeff Half-Zip pullover in navy. The little bit of print peeking through is a subtle way for your man to wear Lilly. That pullover sweater is definitely something EVERY man should have in his closet. I got one for my dad for Christmas...he loves it! It's tough to choose between the navy and the kelly green. Either way you go, this is a staple!

You'd look this happy, too, if you were in these clothes!

Happy Hour: The Raspberry Flirtini

Call me inspired, or perhaps just a Sex and the City addict, but I was watching a rerun last night, and the drink the best friendss were sipping on was called a "flirtini". Obviously, I changed ALL my previous plans for this Happy Hour and looked what I thought would be a yummy "flirtini"!

The Originators

Here it is:

Ingredients:

1 part VOX Raspberry Vodka

1/2 part Chambord

1 part Champagne (float)

And here's what you do with it all:

Mix VOX Raspberry Vodka and Chambord in shaker half-filled with ice. Pour into a champagne flute and top with
Champagne. The simply garnish with fresh raspberries.

Now all you have to do is proceed to drink with caution, but flirt without it!!

Our lovely model is wearing the Sherman tunic in the classic white burnout print. It's an older piece, but we still have some of these!! It's a versatile tunic dress, we've seen it used as a beach cover-up, a casual dress, and even worn with leggings on some taller girls!

To go with the tunic, we paired a flat neutral shoe (these are Jack Rogers, but McKims work great, as well!) the thick brown belt from the Wayles dress, a Loren Hope necklace and the orange Basketcase Bangle and the multi-colored Bo Bangles bracelets. To tote around all your belongings, we suggest the "See and Be Seen" tote in the Booty Caw print. I love how sturdy (and washable..bonus points!) it is!

Who wouldn't be ready for their closeup in this outfit? Its casual and beachy chic!

I love how this standout coral necklace looks on our model. Usually when people think of these bigger necklaces, they keep everything else simple. For instance, wearing a white plain strapless top or a simple black dress. I think it's okay to mix it up a bit (obviously!!!) Wear some other jewelry with it. Belt your dress. Carry a tote bag in a funky print. Don't shy away from a dress that has a little detail on it. Break the rules, but stay tasteful. That is the key. Then you can look beachy chic while you set sail for the days tasks!

PS Being the Gator lovers that we are...we STILL have some Sherman tunics in the gator prints from last year. Great cover-ups or dresses for those HOT HOT HOT gamedays!

Shaken, Not Stirred: Whitaker Dress

Hello, "Whitaker" where have you been all my life? These were my thoughts as I first saw this dress in the store. Talk about a trendy piece! The one shoulder look is obviously still very popular, but why not take a risk and wear a one shoulder printed dress? Let's "up the ante" fellow Lilly lovers...it's about time!

Now, a great thing about this print on the Whitaker dress is the color palette. Navy, green, yellow, light blue and white. All of these colors look great together and since navy dominates the print, it's more wearable than some other prints. We added a gold skinny belt, some cute yellow shoes (JCrew, if you're wondering!) and a couple of Lilly navy bangles: The Basket Case and the Bo Bangles.
As a shopaholic and Lilly lover, you probably have learned over time that you REALLY have to try things on. The hangers just can't do an article of clothes justice. We know you can't always make it to a store, so we hope to help you out a little, and as you can see on our model, this dress looks a MILLION times better on a body! Nothing wears clothes better than a woman with confidence! Take the Whitaker dress for a spin and tell me how much you love it!

So we still have some inventory left from Resort, and I was just playing with how some pieces might look in a colder weather setting. I think I too often think of what I'd want to wear now, but I know not ALL our readers are from sunny Florida!

Our gorgeous model is sporting the Moira skirt in "Sea Me", the Hannah sweater in Navy, with the Murfee Sea Blue dip dye scarf and the Resort Wedges!

How Mary Tyler Moore is this picture?? :) Love it!!!

This is such a fun and flirty outfit!! I would love love love it with tights in colder weather and different shoes! The pink coat was from my personal closet, but I think it's a great color and matches just about anything Lilly that you might want to wear in the cold.

I love how these wedges elongate your legs...and the sweater and dress match perfectly. The scarf is tied a just a little differently than usual.

Love is in the air, and we're not just talking about this super cute couple in today's post. We love how our gorgeous model looks in the Michelle Slim Bermuda Shorts!

The shorts are in a salmon color, and we paired it with a Vivi top in classic white, added a blazer and dressed it up with some trendy metallic strappy heels. On the guy, we have our very LAST men's tie (call the store for pricing!!) Overall, it's all about mixing up casual pieces with dressier ones.

You'd be smiling too if you were wearing Lilly and as happy as these two!

In these last two photos you can really see the full look. I can't get over how great these shorts look. They're much more chic and dressier than what you automatically expect from bermuda shorts. It's a more mature look, for sure, but it's wearable and in NO way looks matronly or outdated. In fact, I'm gonna say THIS is the updated way to wear Bermuda shorts. You no longer have to wear them casually with a solid color top and flip flops!

7 Ways to Wear Your Keetan Dress

Ahhh, the elegant Keetan dress (shown in Classic White Little Lilet). I absolutely adore it. Talk about dressing things up and down...this is an easy dress to do that with. It's very versatile. It's shown rather plainly here with strappy heels and some jewelry, but we looked around the store and found some other ways to change up how you wear your Keetan dress.

This look was already shown on our Facebook page, however I wanted to share with you WHY! At the very top of the dress, there is little pleating detail, then the dress flows down from there, and honestly doesn't give much shape for ladies with smaller waistlines unless...you belt it! We borrowed the belt from the Wyatt dress (obsessed) and really liked how it looked. We've suggested belting it to customers who have come in, and we wanted to suggest it to our blog readers, too!

Wear this look on a warm day to a barbeque with friends after a day of shopping!

Wear this look on a chillier day, while stopping at your favorite coffee corner and browsing through the latest edition of Southern Living or catching up on your Kindle reads!

We paired the same belt from the Wyatt dress over the Katia Wrap Slub in Starfruit Yellow. This wrap is light enough for those times when it gets just a little too chilly! Swing by the store and see our color selection!

Wear this look to interview at a creative and colorful job, or out to drinks, for a more downtown feel. We wrapped the Glam Obi belt around, but folded the edges to make it thinner and only wrapped it around once, for a clean front. Add the blazer and a fabulous clutch (we still have this glamsnake clutch & goes perfectly with those Resort wedge heels).

Wear this look while lunching with the girls. The print is beautiful and the pink sweater coat bring out for of the pink in the dress! We added the Loren Hope "Scattered Glass" necklace and our outfit is complete! It's girly, pretty and comfortable...those sweaters are divine, trust me!

Wear this look while visiting a local museum and taking in the arts and culture of your hometown! After all, the Lilly prints you wear truly are works of art! No, but really, that's literally how they start off! We paired another Katia Wrap with this dress, but chose white, so that the Loren Hope "Harper Bib" necklace really pops! Its a shade of coral that is goes well with the dress and the petals of coral, pink and orange found in the design. A skinny gold belt emphasizes your waistline and you're set!

Wear this look while listening to live music and sipping on a drink outside with friends. This was the last look we put together. I'm obsessed with Murfee scarves. They are the softest things, most because they're made with cashmere, and are honestly a great price for what they are! I draped the scarf strategically and tucked the very bottom into the belt. It almost looks like a new top/skirt combination, and I really love it! It's just a different way to wear a scarf! Pair this with some brown cowboy boots and you can dance the night away, too!

Mad About the '60s

In the words of "Old Blue Eyes," our dear Frank Sinatra, "the best is yet to come, come the day that you're mine!" We couldn't think of better words to describe our feelings about this Spring shipment! We want to take it ALL home!

This line, as well as other designer's most recent lines, really draws from the '60s. The hit TV show "Mad Men" has popularized the classic trends of the 1960s once again (props to Janie Bryant, the show's costume designer). They say that history repeats itself, and this rule always applies to fashion. Personally, I just like to think it repeats AND refines certain trends!

Mr. and Mrs. Draper are such a dreamy pair. Her ultra-feminine looks and his...well, what can we say John Hamm looks good in a suit! He has this Humphrey Bogart appeal. Obviously, I love these actors!

This Jada printed shirtdress comes in both Classic White Little Lilet (as shown) and Lilly's Pink Lilet. At first, seeing it on the hanger I thought it was pretty cute, but once I saw it on our wonderful model...I was in love. This shirtdress is absolutely perfect and is SO flattering on everyone! We paired it with our new natural wedges, which we also think are fabulous. Props to the Lilly shoe-makers because these wedges are the most comfortable, yet trendy shoes. They have a subtle metallic woven into the fabric - making them wearable all day or all night!

I just love this ladylike silhouette and the comfort of these great sleeveless dresses. As we can see below, Lilly has come out with an updated and more modern version of this tried true flattering frock!
The Essie dress might be my favorite pick...and maybe I'm biased, since I caved in and bought it! I love wearing this dress, it truly just makes me happy! This dress just has a great shape to it and is something I can wear during the day and throw a little cardigan over my shoulders if I get cold. We love it paired with sandals and the Dress to Impress pink purse.

The women of "Mad Men" have impeccable style, from their shoes to their fabulous jewelry (anyone else coveting Joan's pen necklace?). We can't help but fall in love with the full skirted dresses that they wear. Obviously, we're not the only ones who are thinking this way...check out the Eryn dress!

It comes in pink and yellow. Both options are equally as cute. This is the dress we were just itching to see in person, and when we took it out of the box we were not disappointed! This classy number has a great fit up top and then bells out. Could anything say Audrey Hepburn any better?

So here is Joan and her notorious pen necklace (I WANT THAT!) This last look is more fitted than the other dresses we've showcased. We adore this color pink and find a similar color in the print on this next dress:

Introducing, the Collins dress. This dress has the conservative higher neckline, but a great "v-cut" in the back (as does the Eryn). It's fits well on our model! Like the other dresses, this emphasizes and creates a great waistline definition, which is always a plus. We played around (literally) with a Murfee scarf and love that combination, as well. The hem on this dress is just slightly longer than the shifts and one-shoulder dresses - it keeps things classy, professional and ladylike! This is the dress I can see style icons of the past wearing today. The look is timeless!

It's not infatuation, nope! It's true love when it comes to our feelings towards the Spring 2011 line! Do you feel the same way?

Shaken, Not Stirred: The Clare Dress

Ohhh the Clare dress. I don't think there is ANY dress more comfortable than this one! The jersey knit is perfect in any weather and for any age. I can't sing enough of it's praises. We have it in a few pretty prints in the store right now, but styling-wise we chose the most challenging dress to wear (at least I thought so!). Don't get me wrong I love the Optical Confusion print, but it's a lot to handle. With a little celebrity influence, we knew exactly what to do with it...

Time to "Boot Scootin' Boogie" with the Clare...yeah, we said it!

The trick truly is confidence - as with anything! Wear this print with pride and you will turn heads, my dear. Pair some cowboy boots, a la Taylor Swift and you've begun to make this dress your own. We added a denim jacket and rolled up the sleeves, too. I love this look, it's still fun but mixes it up a little. It's definitely not a typical way to wear Lilly...but hey, this isn't your typical print! Accessorize with some bangles and a neutral bag/clutch to top it off. They key is adding pieces that are more neutral or solid in color.
Cowboy boots are a fun way to add some personality to a casual sundress. I feel like they instant make you walk a little differently, with a little extra skip! It feels flirty and kinda like you're playing dress up again. It's impossible to not have fun in the Clare dress and those boots...so turn up the country music and let your hair down!

We truly hope you are having a wonderful AND safe time today...and tonight!! We're coming at ya live today with the Brileigh top...which actually sounds a little Irish to me! One thing is for certain, wearing a cute print like ensures luck all day!

You won't get pinched while donning this top...not today! The green and blue hues in this print look great on any skin tone or hair color. I'm serious, it's been proven! We paired ours with white capris and neutral wedges and our own hot pink belt, to add a pop of unexpected, but delightful color.

Butterfly Kisses

So as you can see, we are quite taken with the Reeve Dress Lace. This is NOT your typical little white dress. Not only does it have a great shape to it, but the detail in the dress is gorgeous!

I love how the lace lays past the slip of the dress and let's some skin peek through. There's been a lot of buzz about lace in the trend topics lately, but this is the tasteful way to do it! And it's still very modern and wearable.

I also love the idea of a skinny hot pink belt right on top of the waistline seam, a colorful clutch or some great turquoise earrings. The great thing about white dresses is that you can play with bright and vibrant accessories. You don't wanna overload the senses with things, since the dress has such great detail but definitely have fun with it!!

Giving Back

I don't want to be redundant, because I know I already posted on our facebook page that we are going to be at the "Cause 4 Fashion" show today benefiting the Climb for Cancer Foundation. We are really exciting to see survivors, both women and minnies, model Lilly and wear it with a smile.

While I have your attention, I just want to share some thoughts, too. The cause behind this event, and behind so many events and philanthropies I personally attend can get lost. I'll speak for myself here and maybe you'll agree, but I can sometimes lose sight of what we're trying to accomplish and how many lives we can touch by giving back. It's easy to get caught up in the clothes or the competition.

Right now, Japan is dealing with complete devastation. A huge 8.9 magnitude earthquake has just triggered a tsunami and multiple fires in the country. Even the US in feeling the effects of all this; Hawaii just had a 6-foot wave surge. In less than 24 hours, waves went all the way to South America.

I'll stop with all the depressing facts, I'm sure you're hearing enough on the news, and get to my point. Life is fleeting, and we try to make the very most of it we can. I crave designer labels and material things all the time, and that's okay if I work hard and it makes me happy. However, that can't replace the happiness my family gives me. It can't replace the happiness helping others gives me. And it can't replace how I feel about living life - as I try to make it as happy and colorful as I can. To me, Lilly stands for that. I see a matching mom+minnie look and I think of the moment you can share with your daughter. I see the bright colors and I begin to smile, even if I'm in the store alone.

Make what you do today REALLY count. Hug someone you love and don't take them for granted. Give back when can, realize how blessed you are and smile always. XOXO

Shaken, Not Stirred: Elsa Top

Okay so I know what you're thinking. We JUST did a post on an Elsa top...why another one? Well here's why: I just watched the last episode of Glee and was definitely liking Santana's top during the Landslide performance. As emotional as that piece was, I could really only think, "that looks JUST like the Elsa top!"

Love this.

The simplicity of the top and Santana's overall look in this scene isn't something we usually see on her. There was definitely a more vulnerable side of her exposed, too...but anyways, back to the clothes!

I was a bit inspired by this look and decided to give it a Lilly spin. Here's one of our beautiful models sporting the Elsa top in white, with Mainline jeans and a Loren Hope necklace!

I love the simplicity of this look. So casual and easy to wear. Even if your not a hardcore Lilly fan and ALL about the pink and green, this outfit is trendy and comfortable.

The Loren Hope necklace is the perfect addition to this look! It's the perfect pop of color, and the gold and turquoise combination... FLAWLESS! I love everything about this. Elsa tops are simply stunning with jeans. For a night on the town I adore black or dark skinny jeans with any color solid Elsa, a pretty long necklace (Loren Hope also have plenty of these!) and stunning pumps to complete the look. Sophisticated chic for sure!

The Original

As Missy Elliott once said, "my style can't be duplicated or recycled." Whenever I hear the word "original" that line always pops into my head, so excuse my moment of confession, here.

Anyways, today I've been in a chipper mood, so I wanted to share with all of you OUR original. Lilly lovin' ladies (and gents!), this is for you: the original "Keep Calm and Lilly On" graphic I made back in January. I have a version of the original hanging in my room and started playing around with different things and then....it happened! The Lilly version was created. I posted it and received overwhelmingly positive responses. Emails, facebook messages, comments, likes, tweets and then all of a sudden it was on a tumblr blog!

I hope you enjoy it, share it and love it! All I ask is a little credit where credit is due :)

Happy Hour: Oprah's Pomegranate Martini

Here's a little Oprah and Rachel Ray collaboration that is sure to rock your world. This is my mom's most recent favorite for Girl's Night Out!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
2 ounces Absolute Citron vodka or white tequila
1 ounce Cointreau liquor
1 cup of ice
Splash of sparkling water (optional)
Squeeze of lemon (optional)

And here's what you do with it all:

Shake ingredients in a shaker and put in chilled martini glasses. Put pomegranate fruit into glass as garnish.

Here's a little sneak peek preview of what we've been up to in the store today. 400 lbs of Lilly! Can you believe it? Maybe you can't, but we sure can. We are in a sea of pink...and cardboard! But hey, it's worth it! Angelica and Brittany were working hard all day sorting through the boxes. I came in as soon as I could and helped out for a few hours...AND IT'S ALL DONE (mostly)! Here are our top picks from the new shipment:

Angelica's pick is the pink Blossom dress. The bright pink is classic Lilly, and this silhouette is one of the most popular styles for the brand. The white trim at the bottom is just enough to make the dress standout. It's not like a lot of the variations of the Blossom, this version doesn't have the trim at the top of the dress. The more simple neckline allows you to accessorize more and maybe wear a more eye-catching necklace!

Here's Brittany's pick, the Wyatt dress in the "Peel and Eat" print. I seriously might get this dress just for the fabulous belt ALONE! Okay, I'm also crazy about the dress, but the belt is simply perfection. I'd definitely wear it with other things, too. This easy going dress is definitely one of my favorites (can you tell?). This photo doesn't do it enough justice. It's a very flattering dress and the colors are outstanding. If you're thinking about it...think no further. Just do it.
Lastly, is my pick! DISCLAIMER: I wanted to pick ALL of the dresses, but that's not an option when you have to pick just one! I went with a skirt, to mix things up. I chose the Whitley skirt in the "Multi Dashing" print. It lives up to it's name (I know, that was cheesy of me to say, but it's true!!). This skirt has endless possibilities. You can wear it with a plain white tee, or opt for a trendier top. You can play with layers, belts, sandals, flats, wedges, pearls, long necklaces...see what I mean?? It's one of the most versatile pieces we hung up today and I predict it'll be on quite a few "must have" lists!

Shaken, Not Stirred: Nikki Maxi

This post is dedicated to the GORGEOUS Nikki Maxi Skirt. It's actually from last year, but completely timeless and perfect for cooler nights after warmer days we've been having!

Our model wore it with a fitted black tank with a ruffle neckline. It's cute with a regular thick strap tank, or even a one shoulder top. It's a maxi skirt, and since there's automatically more fabric, it's better to keep the top you pair with this skirt fitted for this look.

We finished the outfit by keep the accessories simple, since the skirt is so bold and truly is the focal point of the outfit. The Key to Your Heart Necklace worked flawlessly. It's simple and trendy and is a great touch to so many different looks. I like it because it's really at first glance, but when you look close-up you can see the detail in the necklace.

Another great thing about the Key to Your Heart necklace? THE PRICE! It's $48, which is very reasonable for such a trendy piece of jewelry. I love a long necklace to top off a plain tee with jeans or even a dress and heels for a night out. It's a versatile necklace that goes with SO much. And if you have qualms about wearing gold...I used to, too. But now, I am a true believer in the RIGHT gold accessories and this is definitely one of them!

To finish the look our model wore her own tan wedges. These shoes are perfect for this look, you don't want anything too heavy or loud - let the skirt do the speaking! It's such a fabulous look and when paired with the right top, shoes and accessories it's a stunning look. The skirt has such great natural movement without being bulky and the fabric is light and comfortable. It's a favorite for sure!

Shaken, Not Stirred: Elsa Top Interlock

Since this is the first "Shaken, Not Stirred" post, I'll give it a little introduction. First of all, we love Lilly (obviously). However, we also have a love for other brands and fashion trends. In these posts, we will try to pair Lilly pieces with other things we love to wear on a daily basis.

To start us off, we're taking a look at the versatile Elsa top in the "Doubloons" print. It's the same cut and style of the other Elsa tops of the past, but this is in a knit jersey type fabric. SO COMFORTABLE! But really...I would sleep in this thing! As shown in the photo below, we've paired it with basic solid black leggings.

Leggings have become a staple in many wardrobes. You either love them or hate them. If you love them, we think this Elsa top works perfectly. If you're not a leggings fan, no fear...we think you'll be pleased with some upcoming looks! Our model, Liz, pushed up her sleeves and stacked a few Lilly bangles, shown below, to complete her look.

Our models had so much fun at the photoshoot...you'll see many more looks in the future! You can tell Liz had a great time - and looks great, too! The main point of this look is comfortable style. It's definitely a great outfit to relax or play around in and still look effortlessly cute!

Happy Hour: Skinny Girl Margarita

So here's the thing, I might have over-indulged at one of my favorite restaurants. It happens to the best of us, right? The guilt is worse than the stomach ache! Well here's a cooling cocktail that I don't feel guilty about in the slightest! It's delicious and low (I mean, doing the limbo, "how low can you go?" kinda low) calorie.

Without further ado here's Bethenny Frankel's Skinny Girl Margarita:

Ingredients:

2 oz of Clear Premium Tequila (count 1, 2 while you pour, no need for measuring)
Tiny splash of Orange Liquor
Juice of 4 Fresh Lime Wedges

And here's what you do with it all:

To serve on the rocks, combine all ingredients over a glass of ice and garnish with a lime wedge.
